Poor & Low Sperms Count

Anyone there try to conceive but due to poor or low sperms count but cannot? Did anybody go for any IVF centre? What is the prodecures & charges like?

just heard over radio this morning that university of bradford together with university of california conducted a survey/study on UK men with low sperm count. One of the common behavior that these men have is drinking coffee at least 3 cups a day. Not too sure how they linked.

Anyway, as my mum's doctor always say, "You can eat everything, but in moderation".

Actually i drink coffee excessively, but my wife still give me a beautiful daughter. I think that survey is quite bias and they want to tekan coffee maker

alot of causes...
sperm is produced in the testicles...
for low sperm count, maybe reduce on the number of times u do..
store for some time...

did the doctor say ur sperms healthy??
they swimming correctly??
if high sperm count but low quality also no use..
check with your doctor...

alot of things can lead to poor sperm production:
certain foods, stress
remember that the testicles also produce testosterone..
if i not wrong low testosterone lead to low sex drive too...

Did you get checked and was told you have low sperm count? If not, then go get checked. First go visit polyclinic doctor, then get referral, the proceed. Best is to KKH. There are a number of steps to be taken before they recommend IVF. That's like a last stage. What you and wife need now is to go through all checks to make sure you know the health of your "soldiers" (sperm), her eggs, her uterus and fallopian tube is healthy or got blockage, etc.

With the final results, then only you decide the best option to follow. Each check at KKH cost approx $50, with referral from govt doctor.

Also consider alternative treatments, like traditional medicines from Chinese, Malay or Indian sources.Sometimes they also work.

Exercise regularly, eat well, relax and dun DIY or NL often.

If you believe, you can consult fengshui.

Went to the NUH for such a test, sorry, I just can't remember the cost. It was about 10 years ago.

I do however, remember that I was given a bottle which looked suspiciously like a Brand's Essence of Chicken bottle without the label, after the usual procedure of registration. I was then directed unsmilingly to the adjacent room. I swear I told myself if I detect even a hint of a snicker from the nurse, I'll vamoose, never to show my face within a 5 km radius of NUH, ever again. From outside, the door to the designated room looked nondescript. Certainly there wasn’t a signage declaring ‘Masturbation Room’. I looked to my left and right, satisfied I did not have an audience, quickly turn the knob and stepped in.

The first thing I took in was a small sliding door on the wall adjoining the registration, the kind through which the doctor communicates with his nurse . What if, heaven forbids, the door slides open while I’m furiously wanking. Nah, they wouldn’t. But what if …

The room was approximately 3m x 5m. There was a 14” TV, on top of a waist high cabinet. There was a sofa in one corner, and an oval-shaped glass-top coffee table. I won’t draw you the details but it wasn’t pretty. I remembered clearly keeping one eye on the sliding door, a glance at the slimming ad, then closing the eyes, trying to drown the bright lights, and imagining, imagining, and always back to the sliding door….

I must have turned in the Brand’s bottle with the least volume of sperm. I’m surprised it did not evaporate altogether during the time it took me to zip up my pants to taking it to the nurse. I’m ready to kill her if she even smile or comment on the miserable quantity. I remembered my ears burning feverishly.

I am to return in 2 weeks for the report and doctor’s analysis. Luckily for me, the Guardian-bought pregnancy kit showed positive 2 days before the date. I went for the appointment anyway. My sperm count was low but so are 95% of all Singaporeans. Less of smoke, drink and stress., go for a holiday if you can and let nature do its work. That’s the doc’s advice.

Chinese medicine, exercise, no smoking, no drinking and stay healthy is most important.

I was due for a sperm test by the O&G doctor when my wife couldn't get pregnant until suddenly she got pregnant and I was save by the bell = cancel appointment lah.

2. aviod hot showers or prolong soaking in hot bath tab.
3. smoking will also reduce count
4. take zinc pills or vit e
5. watch yr diet n stay healthy
6. relax cause stress is usually he main factor

as for IVF, its the most advance method but not necessary effective. i've heard of many cases where couples tried this method but didn't suceed. but the moment they give up trying, sucess...
sometimes the more u want it the more u wont get it, so u n yr wife shd just relax n take it easy. go on a relaxing vacation. usually works. oh, n dont forget timing as well. gd luck.

Had this problem before. Went to do check-up and found out haf slightly low sperm count. Dr put me on some medication for 3 months, after that ok! Back to normal. Problem was with woman. Tubes blocked so sperm cannot swim through.

She was put on some treatment and we wasted about 6 months cause it did not work, so decided to see fertility Dr. After showing him various tests, he said can try. Let me tell you that after 3 attempts only successful.

Cannot give cost indication as it is on a case to case basis. My initial one cost me $10K. Kana pay so much also no result. Then my friend advise me to go to Malaysia cause there cheaper.

So go over to the so called best Dr, all in all for the same treatment and medication only cost me RM14k. End of the day was successful and now have children. Below is the link to the webpage of the clinic.

Good luck to you bro. A work of warning – the whole exercise is very stressful on both parties. Woman will be pumped up on medication which gets them extra moody, and there is also the point where the woman would need daily injections for hormones. End of the day woman and me no time to go to dr, so dr say can self inject. Quite interesting.

But all in all it was worth the effort and stress!
