http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/1027922.shtml Japan panics over routine air training over East China Sea Source:Global Times Published: 2017/1/9 22:18:39 A Chinese military expert said Japan should not overreact to spotting eight Chinese military planes over the East China Sea and Japan Sea on Monday, saying this is routine military training. According to a Japanese Defense Ministry Joint Staff press release on Monday, "eight Chinese military aircraft, including one early warning plane, one intelligence gathering plane and six bombers, appeared over the East China Sea and Japan Sea." The press release added that Japanese Self-Defense Forces sent military planes immediately to deal with them. Fu Qianshao, a Beijing-based air defense expert, told the Global Times on Monday that this is normal routine training, and Japan panicked and overreacted, which shows Japan may have wanted to hype the event and act as a trouble maker. The news soon triggered wide attention on social media, with hundreds of comments within minutes. Many Sina Weibo users wrote on their account on Monday that Japan's overreaction might have been related to the flight delays between Taipei and Seoul. On Twitter, Japanese Net users said they saw Japanese military aircraft taking off from different airports in Japan, including but not limited to military bases at Naha, Hamamatsu and Komatsu. https://sputniknews.com/asia/2017010...-aircraft-sea/ Japan Scrambles Jet Fighters Amid Flight of Chinese Aircraft Over Korean Strait © Wikipedia/ Aquatiger127 Asia & Pacific 17:04 09.01.2017(updated 17:14 09.01.2017) Get short URL 0 20820 Japanese Air Self-Defense Forces were scrambled in response to Chinese Air Force aircraft flying over the Korean Strait near the islands of Tsushima and Kyushu, local media reported on Monday. Shaanxi Y-8 and Shaanxi Y-9 transport aircraft were also registered in the region, NHK TV channel reported, citing the Japanese Defense Ministry. Representatives of the ministry said that the Chinese planes did not violate Japanese airspace. Tensions between Tokyo and Beijing are intensifying after China announced the establishment of an air defense zone over the East China Sea in November 2013, which spreads to the disputed Senkaku islands. Earlier in the month, Japanese aircraft were scrambled, when six Chinese planes were flying over the Miyako Strait near Okinawa. The two countries exchanged accusations and criticism over the incident. Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
