Please be careful - Daylight Robbery

Just to share my experince with Bros who like to cheong in JB. I thought this might be the best place to warn others bro on what had happen to me.

Last Sunday afternoon, I received a call from a malaysian colleague who say that he wanted to bring me to an exclusive underground club in JB. Was told that there were russian, malaysian, prc and viet gals in that club. So i arranged to meet him at City Square in JB at 5.00pm. Got really excited and thought that if the place is really good, then i can share this place with bros in SBF.

When i reach JB City Sq at around 5.15pm, I called my friend and he told me that he will be slightly late. So i decided to go to the macdonalds near to the entrance at city square to wait for him. I ordered a kiddy meal (as i was expecting to have dinner with my colleague later) which come with a free toy. After ordering my food, I found a seat at the corner of macdonalds. It was a corner four seater table next to a wall. So I sat next to the wall and after finishing my food, i took a look at the toy. Then a skinny rugged looking man came over and sit right next to me. The conversation were as follows:

Man : Are you a malaysian?
Me: Why? (Sensing something is strange with this question)
Man : Just answer me.
Me : Pretending to be malaysian. Yes i am malaysian.
Man: So are you from Penang?
Me: No why?
Man: Doesnt matter where you are from, we are all chinese. Can you 'lend'
me $50?
Me: I got no money to lend you.
Man : Dont lie, I can see your wallet in your pockets. (as i always put
my wallet in my front pocket whenever i go overseas.)

He then reached to his back pocket and took out a small fruit knife and pointed the knife next to my tummy. Shit at that instant i knew it was daylight robbery at macdonalds. I was in shocked and i looked at him again. I was trapped as I am cornered (i am am sitting next to a wall) and the only route to escape is the seat which was occupied by him now.

Man: Dont force me. I am really desparate now Dont force me. I am not
asking a lot from you only $50.
Me: $ 50 only?
Man : yes.

Fearing for my own safety, i took out my wallet and gave him $50. However he wasnt pleased with the $50 and asked another $5 ringgit to make a phone call back home from me, I thought to myself, what the fuck since kena robbed $50 liao what is another $5? So I gave him another $ 5. He took the money happily and 'thanked' me before walking off. I tried to chase him but he quickly walked to the exit next to the macdonalds and make a quick run. I decide not to chase him further when he left city square as i am worried about my own safety and also i was already in a state of shock and do not really know how to react. What pissed me off is at the macdonalds, there was a malay family with kids was sitting next to me and a staff who was cleaning had possibly seen the whole incident and yet nobody is willing to help me. After a short while i called my colleague and told him what happen and cancel our planned trip and headed back to Singapore.I did not make an police report as i think it is too troublesome to do so.

This will be the last time that i will ever go to malaysia alone again. I dont think it is safe even at broad daylight anywhere in JB.

On the way back i was really feeling very down as I was looking forward to a great time and instead i had to headed home disappointed with a state of shock and $50 ringitt poorer

Description of the man who robbed me.
Height : about 168
Weight: 50+ (very skinny)
Race : chinese
Skin: dark tanned
Hair style: short but a little curly.
He look like a drug addict, wearing T-shirts and jeans. He hid his little knife in newspaper wrapping at his back pocket.

Bro feel sorry for u but u should thank your lucky stars dat u only got robbed of 55rm nia.... unlike so many other victims who got beaten up or raped or some even worse got killed.....just make sure u r not alone next time when u go to jb lor....thanks for sharing ur encounter

So sad and sorry to hear what have happen to our brother here. I thing now the JB not so safe already, coz everday can see in Malaysia news paper, all those big big case like robber, rape...big big crime all mostly at JB..I thing Malaysia Goverment, specially JB site have to look over this kind of thing and take a necessary action.

Thanks for your concern. I thought of that too. I was thinking in the whole incident i am lucky as i only lost $55. Much more lucky when compare to others who was robbed and suffer severe injuries. What i could not take is it was about 5pm and the whole macdonalds was so crowded and yet he got guts to whip a knife to rob me. nobody offer any help. Just wish to warn bros here to be more careful when traveling alone to JB. Also never sit alone at a corner where you cannot escape if anything happen.

may be I shld share tips for brudders visiting JB
1st make sure you either go in big company
or if lone ranger, go straight to fren's hse in JB
pick him up there before u go look see, look see
may be me kiasu and kiahsee,
me oso wear vest filled with 4 magazines around me body
lidat, if kenna stabbed, knife will bend if not break in pieces 2 or 3
but seriously, do be careful and stay alert @ all times when in JB
even if there are golden pussies, think safety 1st or you'll be sorry

Damn scary to imagine that this happened at JB City Square. Such a big shopping centre and in broad daylight also can kenna. Imagine the streets around that area??

Normally when I go JB, I will not bring my wallet. Just a small card holder with maximum 2 credit cards. Then I will put maybe about RM30 inside and put the rest of my money in my front pockets. If with my CO, then I will insist that she carries a front sling bag for passports and extra cash.

keep a wide gap between u and those around u ...
avoid ze stranger walking 2wards u ...
b careful of any1 who may cum 2 u fr bhind ...
walk briskly 2 ur destination ...
choose ze more crowded roads n places ...
b more careful when walking along deserted roads ...
do nt take short cuts thru deserted or backlanes etc ...
put only a li'l money in ur wallet n hide ze rest elsewhere ...

u may want 2 consider dose pouches dat u hang round ur neck n slot inside ur shirt (meaning, it's hanging between ur shirt n ur chest) ... me normally do dat wen travelling ...

hehe this was exactly what happened to my brother and friend b4 at the same venue too. That happened about a year ago. But he asking 20 ringits..now he upped his price..lol..

Bro going there must be extra alert...no place is safe in JB. Car also can be stolen in their police premises leh..

Theres once i was having my Macdonalds at holiday plaza with 1 friend..Then suddenly theres this chinese guy sit next table to us looking at us suspiciously(he does not have any food or drink).We immediately take our burgers and leave. Better be safe then sorry.

Oh ya another place bros have to beware and be extra extra alert..is the money changer near the custom. My cousin got robbed there. Immediately after my cousin change the money a guy snatch the money away and hopped to a bike waiting for him by the road. Careful at the surrounding there..dont count the money while u walking away..stay at the counter to count.
