This may be be the best thread to post this report but I think trhere are many brothers who travel to various parts of China visited this thread.

There's a report recently published in the Hong Kong paper "The Standard".

"RED-LIGHT" GANG SMASHED


Shenzhen police have smashed a gang of "Red-light district" robbers which had been targeting Hong Kong men in the city's Nanshan district.

The plan was simple - attractive young women posed as prostitutes and would seduce Hong Kong men looking for company and escort them to a rental house where the victims would be beaten and robbed of their cash and credit cards.

The operation, which the Shenzhen public security department had been planning for more than a month, began last month when officers divided into six teams and arrested syndicate members after watching five men being taken to the houses by women.

Eight women and three "watchers" were arrested. At the same time, another team broke into a another house and arrested four more suspects who were busy tying up five victims.

"This is the first time we have acted in such a swift and sudden way," an officer identified only as Wong said. "We must not get the wrong people and we have to avoid scaring citizens."

The operation followed a series of complaints, including one from a Hong Kong man who was himself captured and robbed.

According to the latest edition of Eastweek magazine, the man told police he was seduced by a beautiful young woman in the Nanshan district, but his date turned out to be a costly nightmare in which he was beaten, robbed, tied up and forced to spend a night with other victims who had fallen into the same trap.

A week after he was rescued, the man saw the same girl talking to other men on the streets, so he called police, who then began plotting an operation.

"The hardest thing in fighting seduction-robbery is evidence gathering," Shenzhen police senior officer Hu Zhijun said.

"Most victims won't report to police because they don't want to lose face. Many suspects have been released due to insufficient evidence. This time, we had spent over a month just to collect evidence.

"With plenty of evidence and knowing how the suspects commit the crime, even without the suspects' statement, we can still try the case in court," Hu said.

Prior to the raid, police officers had been monitoring the suspects 24 hours a day and had targeted about a dozen belonging to this particular syndicate.

According to Shenzhen police, the group was highly organised and would never commit the crime twice at the same location.

Further investigations revealed the syndicate was organised under a leader, surnamed Cheung, who recruited a group of attractive young women to look for victims in the district.

As the women searched for victims, several "watchers" would oversee the operation while body-builders were used to help restrain the victims.

According to Shenzhen public security, the group would rent a place near where they planned to look for victims and after a couple of days, the gang would go to work.

They would seduce victims by offering a cut-rate price for sex with one of the women. The watchers would then notify the guards after the victims agreed to go to the rented house. Once the victims were inside the house, they would be restrained and robbed of all their valuables.

In just one night, the group could rob more than 10 victims leaving the rented accommodation on the second day when the landlord would come looking for his unpaid rent and would discover the victims.

I saw in our news report couple of days ago.

I just return from Shanghai and was there for more than a week. I stay very near to Nan Jing Lu.

I spent few nights strolling alone along NanJing Lu doing nothing practically , just waiting to catch a plane back to Singapore. While in NanJing Lu (Bu-xing-jie) I was approached numerous time by Gals (some pretty, some cute, some average) trying to strike a conversation with me. They would just say "hi" to me and pretend to ask some questions. Some questions ask include:
1) "what is the time now"?
2) How to get to "Fu-Jian Lu etc?
3) Are u a local??
4) Are u alone?
5) Sorry, thought u are my friend!!
They merely wanted to kick-start the dialougue

I ask them not to waste their time on me as I am not keen on any company and wanted to be alone. I am not sure what service they offer. Perhaps they might qoute some cheap KTV and/or accompany services (my guess). Rtaes wise, sorry, I didn't bother to ask.

I must say, they are sharp on targetting Guys foreigner. Or could be the dressing that give us away.

Well in case , any brothers heading to SH or already in SH. DO lookout for such activities and think twice before agreeing to any services. Or u might have use any such service before, please share what u know.

Yes, You are right. It's at Pudong. By MRT, nearby there is a station but got to walk a distant to the convention hall (A taxi probably would cost u RMB 10). I was there last month for the Cebit Asia show (18/9-21/9).

Not necessary lah....It's just at the tip of Pudong.

Under normal traffic condition, by taxi from Xiu Jia Hui to/from the New Exhibition hall takes less than half hour and cost around 35rmb. I being there many times liao and I had no problem staying in Puxi.

Pudong is a dead in the night........Heee....heee.....

It's a clean joint if you ask me.....It's close to midnight when I visited the place....my face showed it all that I had been on booze...and I don't even get the slightest hint/suggestion that there are specials.....the layout of the rooms clearly suggest you must be the voyeur kind if there are specials going on....Everyone can get a free show through the see thru doors....

I guess most of the bros here do experienced it someway or another but I guess shit always happens, right? At least we learnt our lessons! However it is ur own group of regular bros, then there must be a reason to such happenings, be it miscommunication or misunderstanding! There is always a reason for such occurrences! This group of bros have known one another for quite some time already and I am pretty sure every one knows almost every one quite well, whether the bros are really "chee-hong" or not! If such things are not ironed out in future, how to continue? I urge all bros here to treat every bro as equal and fair as possible, especially not "ill-treating" our own bros!

In fact, I have also heard from many bros that group of bros meet, either with or without their lady partners, in Shanghai. There are numerous occurrences that some of the ladies that the bros brought along are such a pain in the ass (or eyes!), putting up an attitude that they think they are the best in the world and the whole bloody world owes them something! Yet the bros never complain about that as they respect their following bros! Turn into Shanxi Nan Lu and u'll see Somerset Xuhui to your left after about 100m. The HC joint is just opposite (i.e. to your right).

(2) GSM Pre-paid Phone Card
Cost: RMB150; comprising RMB50/100 for the mobile no. and the balance for call usage (depending on the mobile no., so ask around).

(3) Counterfeit RMB
Personally I don't bother to check coz u can always get rid of it if u find u have been saddled with a counterfeit note. But from state-sponsored TV programmes I've seen, u should check the paper texture/quality, the print quality, that whatever-u-call-it strip, etc. Many stores have gadgets to test its authenticity - u can however get rid of any fake notes by using them on people who don't have such gadgets (like the cab-drivers, poor fellows!).

Was in Shanghai last week and decided to give this place a try.

Location: as described by fellow brothers, not difficult to find at all, just tell the tax driver and he will bring you there.

Set-up: joint is lcoated in the basement, when you first arrive you walk into the ground floor reception area and will be met by a waiter/usher. He will walkie-talkie your arrival to another group of ushers downstairs.

Procedure: relatively straightforward - just say "yes" when the usher asks you if you want a massage. Some people go there just to bathe and not for the massage. Price list is pasted on the wall next to the downstairs cashier/reception for all to see (in Chinese). You are not shown to the locker area, just undress and the attendant will help you hang up your things. If you wish, bring along your HP, wallet, cigarettes, etc, with you. You will be given a zip-lock plastic bag to put all these things in. Next, go have your shower, hot-tub, cold-tub, sauna, steam, back-rub, etc. Only thing is that the facilities do not look as clean as one would wish it to be, but passable (for the price you are paying). After you have washed yourself up you will be shown to a TV room where you can sit in an armchair with your legs up to relax. You can ask for an ear job, ie, someone to clean the wax in your ears or just sit and have a drink. Drinks are on the house but the ear job is extra, I think RMB60 or something like that. When you are ready for your massage just tell the attendants and they will bring you to your room.

Massage: room is just slightly bigger than a typical tui na cubicle in Singapore but this is an enclosed room with an half galss door and half glass wall, good thing is that the glass is opaque and nobody can see inside, likewise you cannot see outside. Girl was already in room when I went in. Room more dim than what I would have liked it to be but could still see that she was not bad looking, maybe mid-20's, about 1.5m, reasonable vital statistics. She helped me disrobe and I was asked to lie faced down on a massage bed typical of the type we get in Singapore. She returned carrying a basket full of items, hot water, cold water, cotton swabs, creams, oil, etc. She then took off all her clothes.

Her "xiang mu" began by her taking a cooton swab and dipping it in hot water/disinfectant. She then used the cotton swab to clean my ass-hole. Location: again not difficult to find, just follow instructions given and relay them to the tax driver. Only caution is that there are two or three such joints within a 50 metres radius. I do not know about the other two but the one I went to was dimly lit and very near the road junction.

Procedure: just walk in and pretend that you are familiar with such places, not necessarilt that this is not your first time but just familar with such places. China is a heaven for good quality prirate CDs (chinese n english).
RMB8 for a single dics and RMB10 for a dual-disc.

One tell tail sign is that there only gals employee. No place for a guy to work there. They alway located in the small side street...away from the spotlight and cheap rental I supposed.
Go explore along the small that you guys are familar with, you be surprised there are wonderful FLs in your neighborhood.....

If first time to the FL, the "luo pang hiang" or lady boss will sound out "Xian sheng An-mo mah ??". Don't be shy, go straight to the point and ask what level of service is provided....HJ, FJ, BJ, BBBJ etc...

The standard price for the Fa-lang in Shanghai as what I know is 50rmb for "Tai fei" which the boss will keep and rmb100 to 150 for fj. Total max rmb200. Don't pay more than that...don't spoil market ok. KangDingLu towards the north end of ShanXiNorth Road

Haifang Road :

If you head north on Shanxi North Rd past Kandinglu, you will hit Haifang Rd. Make a left and there a few bbs on the street. I think its the 2nd closest one to Shanxi Rd and on the north side of the street

Huangpi Lu : mostly south of Fuxing Lu. Also on Hefei Lu a half block east of Huangpi Lu.

Shan (not Shaan) Xi Road : This street is near the intersection of He Nan Lu and Hai Ning Lu.

As SH is changing so fast some of the above places may be obsolete. Anyway, go walk the side streets with an eagle eye I am sure we can find more new FLs with more exciting stocks.

One of the best food place is called "Liu Hui Guan" at XinTianDi, 2nd floor. This is really really good food that even locals admit it! The drawback is that the prices can be a little pricey though. May cost about S$40-60 per pax if you order the really good dishes. The season is in now for crabs and this is one of the best place to eat them, other than outside towns.

This is a nice little quaint restaurant situated within the premises of the renowned university. Food is good and very cheap.

(2) Vegetarian Lifestyle - 77, Song Shan Lu (off Huai Hai Zhong Lu, adjacent to Tai Ping Yang Shopping Centre) tel: 63848000 (www.jujubetree.com)
Good and reasonably-priced vegetarian food - during weekends, reservations are necessary. You'll get a 10% discount if you've an E-long card (this card is freely distributed at the train station and airports). No smoking and alcoholic drinks are not served here. They discourage wastage so if they think you're ordering too much, they'd gently remind you. Set lunches at RMB16 per person apart from the ala carte.

(3) Yandang Lu (off Huai Hai Zhong Lu)
I call this road the "other" pedestrian mall (bu xing jie). It's a short stretch of road which leads to Fuxing Garden where some popular nightspots are (Club 97, Guandi, Cashbox). It's lined on both sides by little restaurants and a few bars. You can find Western and Eastern food here - so take your pick.

I've recommended restaurants along or close to Huai Hai Zhong Lu because I reckon you'd be there often (it's Shanghai's Orchard Road to the Shanghainese). I seldom eat at Nanjing Dong Lu (the real bu xing jie) which others call SH's Orchard Road.

If you've a sudden craving for SG food whilst you're here, then there's none other than Silverspoon at Parkson Shopping Centre (5th storey) at Huai Hai Zhong Lu (Shanxi Nan Lu). Good Sg coffee at RMB10 per cup.

"Qian Long" a SH food restaurant located in the very popular food street. 72, wang hei lu (yellow river) tel : 632-76733 off the landmark Nanjing lu. Their Beijing duck is just simply superb.

Even though I have not been to HK City, I can expect what to get for the price. I think it is quite similar to those Sauna in Hong Kong.
But as for ShuYiQuan or Dong Fang, the emphasis is not on the facilities but the service by each girl. I found the girls at ShuYiQuan are more professional in their approach and attitude. All these are available at below HK City's price.

If you want to go for a pricey sauna with a good HJ, I would suggest the City Sauna at the Bell Building (across Lane Crawford) at Huai Hai Lu. The facilities are top class and I like their hot pool very much. It overlooks the Peoples' Square while soaking.
Price is higher on weekdays at 800plus and cheaper at 700plus at Saturday and Sunday.

HC are never cheap in China from Shanghai and north-wards. You can never compare with those in Guangdong.

I'll not be in town the next two weeks - one week in KL and the following week in Japan. Will be back by 14 Dec, will u still be around? If yes, we can catch up then. Their service should be better because Quan Ju De sells a duck at 168 Yuan. Price is at a premium. In Qian Long (at Yellow River Road), they sold for only 60 over dollars per duck.

Also, I wonder why they provide a sweet corn soup when you order a duck. Is that a desert ? It seems funny to me. Anyway, I still prefer Singaporean Food anytime. Can't get use to Shanghainese Food.

new huai hai is along shun cang lu, walk further down 200-500meters and you can see lots and lots of hair salon
i heard from the cab driver they are dirt cheap - 150-200rmb
not sure if it is true;

i do know for sure that in hua jia bang lu (in feng zhuan, this is quite far from town, but 20-30 rmb from hong qiao area) defintely have takeaway for 150 rmb

any teahouse that has curtain drawn defintely has something on..
tried one along ding xi lu and ya an lu ; 100 rmb for boss 400rmb for girl; that particular girl has real hot body.

Fuzhou don't really have much. Xiamen more interesting and cheaper than SHA.
Shenzhen is the cheapest of all places I went. However, hotel may cost a little as too many HK there.

Hi Brother,
I suggest you can try the Roasted Goose instead of the peiking duck. I find it very nice at this restaurant, Tang Gong (Tang Palace) at the Dong1 Zhu1 An1 Bang1 Road next to Jiangsu Road. They are popular for the Cantonese food, so roasted pigeon is defintely another delicacy there.
