Yeah, based on the current happy hour pricing, I feel that GDS offers the best pricing and value in whole of Batam for the TH1 package, even better than those massage joints in Utama area. Those places, 1 hour massage they quote 90-100k, piano massage a little and they will pop the GQ and usual 150k for HJ. No facilities and the rooms are crap.

In GDS, the price of 233k will allow you to use the spa facilities, get a decent massage and end off with HJ. Up to individual to see if can top up 100k to get the therapist to strip/autoroam. Stay there whole day to bio the GROs also no issue, nobody will chase you away. Hehehe

need some advice as this would be my only 3rd trip after 1+ years of absence from batam. think my things had changed

1. are there any extreme price increase for booking from joint during Christmas period?

2. if I m going alone, can I go ktv just to book a girl just for the night? never try ktv before

3. other than ktv and booking joint, wat r the other avenues for booking girls overnight

4. is there any map of booking joint available ? read back 30 pages but cant find any

Let me try and help you out on some of the questions:

1. Although I don't chiong booking joints anymore, I believe that there's no extreme price increase vs normal days. Even if have increase, maybe at most 100-200k? Maybe other bros can comment

2. Yes, you can go KTV alone. Some KTVs (eg Alisan) have a main hall that you can sit in so that you don't have to get a room by yourself. If you are there just to get a cewek for overnight booking, also can. Just tell the mummy and she'll arrange for you to view all the ceweks that are available for overnight booking

3. Other avenues for booking include:
- FLs in WeChat (not very recommended for newbies, book at your own risk)
- FLs In discos like Pasifik, Newton, HH (again, book at your own risk & beware of scams)
- FLs in pubs like Noname or those in Kampung Bule (book at own risk)

4. Please refer to any of Nono1973's posts and click on his signature

5. I am not qualified to answer this question, will need other bros to comment.

Some important reminders for you:

1. Book your hotel room if you have not already done so. You are going during the Xmas period, expect hordes of Singaporeans & Malaysians to descend upon Batam

2. Likewise on your return ticket. Just because you have your ticket stub doesn't mean you are guaranteed a seat on the ferry on 26 Dec. Once u arrive in Batam on 22 Dec, go get your return ferry ticket immediately at the ferry terminal.

The usual road towards Tiban Tua Pek kong was under construction (as above),it was blocked by vehicles pouring sand on the road,and i was stuck on the above road for like 20mins before we figure out another older road...which was previously closed when this one was opened.

Making the best out of a not-so-good situation,if the main road cannot be driven/walk thru,i take another road. I reach the same destination ,just a little longer time. Everything dont seems to go on smoothly...but what can i do? I use some common sense,turn back and get nothing at the end of the day or i can work another way around a situation to reach the same destination.

This event taught me a lesson,sometime we are so complacent (relying too much on technology,on others,thinking i am better than others,or more experience etc) that we forgot to use our survivor instinct ,tweeting it with a little common sense. A solution is usually simple if i were to stop for a while to think. Work around it when the main road is block,hehehe...

Your report outstands all others and increased my wish to go to explore. The problem is that at day time it is desert, and at night I have the temptation of Pacific, Newton and P3 in front of me in Nagoya. Investing 4 hours at night to go to TU might affect my chances to meet a super SYT at Newton exactly that night.

Bro nono, do try the Ah Long mee pangsit if you are there. It's very good in my opinion. And the next coffeeshop is a famous bak kut teh (the one with dried bak kut teh) though i have not tried that before. The best is left for last literally. Along the stretch at the end, there's a coffee shop selling curry rice. The lor pork, intestine etc is very nice. I normally have the curry rice and the mee pangsit every weekend haha. So, I just completed a 2N/2D trip from Saturday night to Monday noon. Thanks to a bro in this forum who offered to put me up in his room.

No, we did not share the same bed nor share his booking cewek. (She's not my type ..). I'll leave this up to your imagination.

This trip, I stayed at this quite new hotel in Windsor Food Court residential area. L Hotel, if you had not guessed it. And, it's a terrible mistake to make.

Trip begun with meeting Bro for dinner at New Siang Malam coffee shop near Lucky Plaza. Had soy sauce chicken, pan fried egg, baby kalian, tipan tough and salted vegetable soup. Total bill at 270+ k for 4 paxes. Quite affordable I would say.

But, my opinion immediately changed when I tried the pool. The warm pool is just that. Warm. The killer was... Algae was spotted in the water and that's a definite no no for me. No matter how affordable. Left the pool and tried the sauna, steam room and then, the oxygen room, in that order. Nothing much to shout about for the sauna and steam room, but I enjoyed the oxygen room. The only place that has this is the Octopus spa, iirc.

After the oxygen room, we decided to proceed to our massage. I had specifically requested for a small size girl and, lo and behold, not only is she small size, she's pretty as well. At least a 7.5/10. The downer is... She won't open her clothes during the complimentary handjob, even when I upped the extra to 200k. Well, I still get to shoot my first load. Back in the hotel, it didn't take me long to dwell into dreamland.

The next moment I know, it's already 7am. And she's there, lying beside me, and both eyes gazing at me. Not that I'm particularly handsome.. But, it's more like my snoring kept her from sleeping soundly. Went out of bed to clear my pee, and washed myself up, and it's another round of breath taking sex.

I benefited so so very much from this thread that i must write my first time experience down. Hopefully will get first timers started. Special thanks to all the seniors here who shared their stories and experiences and ideas. Couldnt have done it without u all!

I went for my FIRST batam trip by myself (solo) after reading up what the seniors have written here. 2d1n, just to get a feel. All in all, first timer flying solo can definitely try batam. Small place, relatively cheap (even kenna carrot also not wont cost u an arm and leg) near to SG, and so many Singaporeans around there lol.

First timer take note. Batam is quite a run down city. The city being the city in general, not referring to any particular place. Ill discuss in more details on individual places i visited. If u are looking for atas stuff, dont look there. By run down, i mean the city is .... "lok kok". (no offence hor) But the price to pay for being run down is ... CHEAP!! If u ask me, im willing to sacrifice atas-ness for what batam has to offer in cheapness.

Hotel : i stayed in da vienna boutique hotel. The hotel is good! for all the "run down-ness" in batam city, the hotel is definitely not run down. It is really as good as what the various online reviews wrote.

Girls : i didnt get a booking girl as i wanted to explore the city as much as possible. So no booking girl joint experience to share.

Massage : i went to delta spa massage. 600k package including hj. The joint is also VERY nice. U wont believe the inside is so nice by the look of the outside. Girl is so so. Personally i find it a bit not worth it.... Maybe the girl not chio enough?

Massage (clean type) : i popped into "indothai" and ran out when i see the price list. 300k and up. Disclamer: I am a cheapo. lol. Then i went to a roadside shophouse massage. Simple deco, cant compare to delta spa, clean rooms (no dirty wear and tear marks etc), hall with curtain partition. 80k per hour HAHAHA. 120k two hours. Wow. Pressed until i song song.

Food : the dish i had the most in batam is a&w root beer float. My favourite. I find it even better the malaysia one. Their spicy fried chicken also v delicious! Ate some ramli styled burger. Nothing to shout about. Ate some roadside stall anyhow order food. (i dont even know the name of what i ordered, just point to opposite table) tasty but give me slight stomach ache.

Shopping : their groceries are cheaper then SG. (no surprises here) Im not a fan of the rest of what the vendors sell in nagoya hill mall. (clothes ect) Lots of cheong branded bags around.

I found a vape shop (electric cigarette) somewhere in one of the shop houses opposite nagoya hill. Friendly boss. Good for vapers who can stock up some essential items before heading back home.

All in all, a good experience for me. Nice place, cheap price, highly accessible! I'll definitely be back, i promise.

If a person is staying in that area,the main Key solution for a cheap and better bonk will be his means of travelling. I would still say the same if anyone asked me again.

I still cannot figure out why a traveller couldn't simply take an ojek or taxi to NED area,Nagoya area and/or perhaps even Utama area that would cost maximum 50k and that would only be taking a maximum of about 5 mins of their time.

I am looking at the cause of it. Is it laziness and/or the prideful self-demand to be serve like a King? Simple theory bro,when demand is more than supply,price goes up. And when supply is more than demand,price goes down. I can spend as low as S$200 for a 2D1N or I can spend as high as S$2k for the same number of night/s. Both weekday and weekend works the same for me.

During the 1st time, talked other bros.

This time, had fun taking the public buses, walking around the joints.
Still didn't try out the massages outside.

i jus read back all the recent failed trip frm newbies. Some time ago, the fail rate 4 newbies following yr basic guide written here has been close 2 nothing,but the most recent fail rates were way higher 4 newbies who claimed they read the thread. Cn't help noticed they aldy took their veri first step wrong by nt stayin in the basic guide's mentioned hotel. :D

This is the part I worry most,i have just wrote a letter to their marketing dept to give them a piece of my mind. They failed in being consistent. In any business dealing, verbally 'contractual words' are very important, especially to a customer.

Anyway, let's see. I have been weighing the pros and cons of continuing staying at Formosa or to change to my back up. Told him matter of factly that now that my needs had changed to another area (Utama area) the membership scheme and the familiarity with the staff are the only reason that I'm still patronizing them. Anyway, like girls, hotels in Batam are a dime a dozen.

Like I always say,this is Batam's culture. Whenever a business entities has good business, price goes up and standard of service goes down hence I often say,pay high price only to get lousy standard, pay low price and I get top notch standard of service and most time,even quality (applies to girls,massage,hotels,etc)...hehehe...

Solution? Just bring down their business lor....hehehe....once I am able to understand this cultural theory, I will get to change my environment to suit myself in Batam. How to bring the price down,you may ask...hehehe...one simple way is to bring in the competition lor...hehehe...create some competition for them.

1+2,result will most often be 3. So if I wish to have a result of 3,i use 0.5+1 or some other two lower figure formula to get 3. BUT...if I want to use a formula of 1+2,i have to try to get more than 3,hehehe...

Speaking about the Formosa fidelity card, you remember I threw it away right at the front desk, when I was told that, to get the frequent stay advantages, I had to pay a price (the special "promotional" price offered to those who have the card) which was mugh higher than that I was paying without card. So, I said "Thanks for the card, but I will stick to how we always did".

The membership card is still at an advantage especially when they just adjust their pricing for both Kaha and their membership for 2017.

Anyway,i took some effort to talk to those guys in Formosa hotel. 2017 onward,regular room will still be 460k/night,their newly renovated room will cost 490k (30k more) and weekends will need to add another 50k for the 2 price quoted. Meaning it will cost 510k for their old room,540k for newly renovated room for weekend (and public holiday).

As for your usual room,the price will be 510k/night, the newly renovated one will cost 540k (30k more) and on weekends (and public holiday), it will cost another 50k more over the 2 quoted price.

Old room : 510k/night
New room : 540k/night

For weekend and public holiday - (add 50k)

Old room : 560k/night
New room : 590k/night

Do note that most if not all of their suite room in the hotel has already been renovated.

Kaha is however one straight price from 2017 onward :

Normal room (deluxe) : 450k/night , weekend 500k/night (public holiday)

Your room : 500k/night , weekend 550k/night (usual was 475k and 525k respectively)

For Kaha,its doesnt matter if the room is renovated or not. One flat price thru all kind of rooms,but members cannot earn points when they book thru Kaha or other online sites.

Remember,i used to pay 460k for your room. And Dec,they wanted to charge me 630k on weekday and 680k per night for weekend. One of my friend went to kaha and got 525k/night on weekday and 575k for weekend while i gave up my reserved room to stay in Biz.

Either Kaha or membership,i know i will still end up having to pay lower price rather than their full price of 630k/680k. But i can no longer get as low as 460k/night flat rate anymore,which by the way isnt a public offer rate. But becos i am going to pay their 'normal' rate,i also get the full membership point value,meaning to say during my CNY 2017 ,i get another FREE stay (my 2nd free stay voucher). And one more trip to Batam after CNY 2017,i become gold member,hehehe...

I win some,i lose some in their new deals and honestly speaking here, this time round, i lose more than i win from my own perspective. A lost is a lost even tho the damage may seems insignificant. :(

Side note, just for Blackpage :

If you stay for 7 nights in your usual room,it will cost you :

5 weekday nights : 540k x 5 = 2700k rupiah
2 weekend nights : 590k x 2 = 1180k rupiah

Total amount need pay : 3880k for 7 nights in Batam

For Kaha,you will pay 40k lesser per night over the above. Meaning you save 280k if its 7 nights.

Hans Inn better even thou it's been awhile I stay there. 350k-380k per night, check in after midnight it be 250k good decent breakfast, outside from lobby n turn left n behind got 1 massage shop that offer hj n fj (can't remember the name, sorry). In front hotel at a right angle there's happy massage (infront of drain), further infront behind happy about 5 mins walk there's berry joint (along the way u manage to fine Princess salon a morena joint. As always follow bronono guides for directions.

I have been always requested to pay half rate to check out at 6pm. It is fair, because I ask the staff to clean completely my room around 12 or 1pm, to have it clean fresh like never used for the afternoon (anyone guesses why? ;))

Anyway,just to relate a friend's experience i brought there last week. He goes for the same package as you and end up being "upsold" by the massage girl to use some special aroma oil for the HJ and paying extra 50k on his bill. I believe more of such pattern/s from their girls will slowly step in.

Most of their girls were from all over the massage places all over Batam and i believe the girl your friend met could have come from ex. Keyza, hehehe...the one my friend took could have come from Delta Spa and the one i took,works there for about 3 years in the same spa. So,standard of service may vary.

Delta is known for upselling all the crap to customers

Keyza is known for not allowing customer to cum,and if want to cum,must pay extra.

Girls who work more than a year there understands and will be able to portrait the place's culture better.

One more thing you will have to take note on,that is ONLY their package has 40% off during happy hour,the rest of their other add-on or extra things,has zero discount (and they arent exactly cheap,for your info). So its naturally why they will try to up-sell whatever they have,just that for now,they are STILL not yet as aggressive as Delta Spa.

Its NOT a matter of 'if', its MORE a matter of 'when' that day will come,hehehe...

Sorry bro,i cannot answer this one yet becos i have yet reach any final agreement during my negotiation with the hotel and it will be only after my CNY 2017 trip can i answer your question.

Do note that when i reply if it is "recommended" to sign up as member or not,i will usually need to emphasis if its for myself as a member or the public being a member or a friend being a member.

I dont quicken my pace to get their silver membership for no reason, as i already expected their price increase before they started it (if you read my older summaries). And now,i am more than halfway towards Gold membership whereby their free room voucher will be able to cover most part of their price increase (but not all).

Note that i now get 15 points per night stay and 10 nights there gives me a free night voucher.

So, why stick to something less familiar with lesser controls.

BUT,here's the key problem,my expectation for Formosa Hotel is way higher than most others. You and most bros here will not have a problem,but i need something in their hotel that ONLY they have. Yes,no other hotels in Batam has it. And i prefer to keep 'that part' to myself.

Forget L-hotel,dont waste time there if you do not have means of transporting yourself from point A to point B fast and efficient enough. I have drop Biz from my list and what i am left of my back up hotels were only Utama and Da Vienna,hehehe... when i drop a back-up,i usually eyed for another spare,hehehe...kiasu ma.

The photos i put up above is what interest me when i 1st see their hotel for the 1st time,hehehe...their smallest room is 38 square meter,hehehe...biggest is 65 square meter. Enough space to play hide and seek with 2 girls in it,hehehe...

Its weakness,its quite a distance to the cheonging places i preferred, eg. booking joints,massage shops etc. The good thing is,its near ferry terminal and Harbor Bay Mall.

I checked back a little,it seems that S$58 appears to be the lowest room rate given by Sinta after much meeting/s with their higher management back then. And their current public price (for members) as stated should be quite close.

Imagine S$58,multiplying by 7 nights,total amount would have cost you S$406.00 (about 3.817 million rupiah base on 9400/SGD),comparing it with public price of 3880k (for member).

US$ has strengthen against both Sing $ and Rupiah, so chances are you are most likely to get an even lower price base on their prevailing rate for 2017.

No need to threaten,hehehe...they (the staffs) often knows that if the price isnt right for me there and then, i will head over to Kaha or An Shun,hehehe...my SOP for booking is simple :

1. I emailed them (the hotels) for room xxx.

2. I inform them my arriving date and the approximate arriving timing (via my 1st email).

3. I tell them i will head over to Kaha/An Shun and that staff/s there will call them ON THAT DAY by a certain time with my reservation name (also via my 1st email). No upfront payment needed.

4. Wait for them to reply my email to confirm my reservation.

5. Everyone's happy,hehehe...Kaha/An Shun,Hotel staffs and including me.

Actually, in any event if you were to encounter any issue,just pay for the 1st night's regular price,and then sign up as a member on the spot,and on your last day of stay,pay up the rest with the member's discount. Note : this is my advise in case they didnt allow you to sign up for membership upon check in. (remember,you ditched your membership before)

Membership in your case is worth it from my perspective becos you visit Batam on an average of about 3 to 4 times a year, staying for about a week each time and on your 3rd trip in the same year, you are most likely getting a free night stay there. And they clean 2 pieces of your laundry for free once a day after your 3rd trip (whereby you will already have acquire silver membership by then,and they clean 4 pieces of your laundry once you hit Gold).

With the silver membership,they give you a free ride to Harbour Bay 4 times a year too (that's if you are on Silver via an early notice, and 8 times a year on Gold).

Seems to be of more value for you than for me,hehehe...

Becos you checked out at 4pm+ that day and as a member plus a regular customer,i think they tends to shut one eye. I checked out 4pm+ a few times and once at 6pm+,and i wasnt charged extra too. But recently,i heard they are adjusting the late check out timing back to 2pm,so i will only know if i will be affected during my CNY 2017 stay.

Half day room fee cost 350k rupiah. I paid that amount when i am still a newbie checking out at 5pm+ about 2 years back,hehehe...i have it recorded in one of my earlier summaries so that i can remember it today.

Info written above were base on my limited understanding of your travelling pattern, and i could be wrong.

Hi Bros!

Would like to thank everyone who contributed to this guide as it helped me out a lot on my solo trip over! So just to help add in fresher experience from first time solo traveller, here's a noob itinerary I used:

Went on Friday morning using BatamFast ferry. Bought the tickets online, to and fro at S$50. Printed the QR code out so it was actually really convenient as I did online check in. Just need to bring the paper that I printed and just head straight for the ferry. Need to scan the QR code to board the ferry.
*Just to clarify that the boarding time is the time you are allowed to go into the custom area. So we do not have to arrive an hour before the boarding time!

From Habour Bay, I actually walked to my hotel, Godes Hotel. Reason for walking is; 1) I'll be able to explore. 2) Worst case scenario for my return on the last day if I got robbed, I would at least know the way and the duration required.

When you see a Mosque, Mac and KFC in the same area, then that area will most probably be the Nagoya Entertainment District (NED).

Though I did walk a big round, it actually worked in my favour as I was able to explore the Batam City Walk area and got myself oriented to the surrounding. On a side note, I walked till Batam City Walk and needed internet so I stopped at the JCO(the donut cafe shop) to get a cup of drink and free wifi. I was given a free donut by the counter girl??:o Is this common marketing/tips strategy or am I really 'special'??

After orientating myself with google map from the free wifi, safely arrived at the hotel around 12pm. The actual check in timing was supposed to be 2pm onward, but the staff did let me check in straight away without additional cost. I didnt choose Formosa cause it was fully booked on booking.com. And it was out of my budget :(

Though I didn't get the glass window between the toilet and bed, the standard room still did fulfil the basic requirements for a non-picky cheapo like me. The only complain others might have would be noise level at night as near it there's a live band singing at night. The aircon is okay when you are alone, but will need to be cooler when you are exercising at night :p 2 nights was S$80 for standard room with IDR 100k as deposit. It is rather near to the Nagoya Entertainment District (NED).

After check in, went for massage at a massage place that's near the hotel I was staying. Between Godes Hotel and Spa secret. I think it was called Yummy massage. The ML was a MILF with C or D boobs, until I moved my hand underneath her shirt to grab them... Behind the pads I think it was an A.. lol, no choice, already agreed on the HJ @ IDR 150k so just follow through. Massage I actually opted for 1.5 hours but it ended early so came out around an hour time. The receptionist actually only charged me the one hour massage price which is IDR 80k. RTM? Nope.

The NED seems kind of dead? First night I walked to the NED and I was the only one in the restaurant... There were a few ladies in there that kind of look like there are waiting for people to hook them up but too bad I'm the conservative type. HAHAHA. Ate pizza for dinner at Lusy's Oar House. Basically, it's food to fill your stomach. I think the live band there starts after 8pm indo time. Cause the live band around the hotel started around that timing. So i went back to NED again to see if it has liven up, but it was still the same.. Though there was this one bar that had a lot of ladies sitting around. Was tempted to go in to try my luck but didnt have the guts to..

First night was rather peaceful. There was this ojek that kept asking me if i want overnight booking girl. I was outside blue moon, but he kept asking me to get on his bike and bring me to find. 600k -800k can get he said. Because its a Friday night. He said tourist normally go over on Sat, so Fridays will have cheaper and wider selection. Basically asking me not to miss the opportunity. I rejected his offer as I wanted to try Blue Moon. In the end, I didn't make any booking as I realise I wasn't confident/comfortable enough to walk into a booking joint on my own...

Second night, I went to blue moon area again. Saw the ojek uncle again and agreed to go with him. I actually was hoping I would get to see him again so I would have someone to bring me in. HAHAHAHA. He brought me to a few places, but I walked out empty handed after 3-4 places. He looked a little sad? So I asked if there were any more places. He tried to smile and said have, then he took me to the black listed morena?? There's no number, only saw morena. There's a wider selection available as compared to the others that we've been to prior. A few SYT. But 1 caught my attention when I entered as she was talking to the mama san when I entered. Then the mama san pushed/tugged her into the selection zone. So I took her. Mama san said 1.2 Juta, I said 1 Juta and mama san was shocked. I think she didnt expect me to bargain on the price as I looked docile. She said okay. So paid and off we went towards the hotel.

Mixed feelings. She was rather sluggish. Kept sleeping and seems uninterested. Since I'm quite shy, it was quite awkward for me. But I have to say she still do her job when you ask for it.

I think the rest are more on personal experiences. Last but not least, the coffee bread at the departure area is really worth the money!!

Sorry that my FR is so uneventful! But the purpose of me writing is to clear some doubts that I had before I went over.

Overall I think it was a good experience that would make my next trip a successful one!

Normally is 45 minutes, collect the boarding pass from the ferry counter. Since you did online check in, you don't have to go to the Batam Fast counter. About half an hour before the ferry departure time, they will let you queue up, clear the AETOS guard before bag scan, clear bag scan and then passport scan.

This is applicable to weekdays and not so busy ferry trips during weekend. For busy trips (like between 9am to 11am, for example), timing is brought forward by another 15-30 mins.

Since you are travelling to Harbour Bay, why not buy Horizon Fast Ferry? BatamFast only have 4 ferry trips to Harbour Bay whereas Horizon have 12 trips to / fro Harbour Bay. Of course, if you have everything planned, then the numbers of ferry trips available is non material.

Good thinking. The Dai Gor who met me on a trip to Batam last year August told me the same thing. At least when you walk, it's easier to commit memory. Let's face it.. Anyone can just take a taxi or ojet, but then everywhere would have seemed so near. And, you are always at these driver's mercy.

You handsome lor, got free donut. It's a package. It's the basic donut anyway. JCo is very affordable, and I used to buy it last time to my regular girl joint and treat them. Even cheaper if you buy the mini donuts package. This is something like what we call "buy sweets to trick little girl."

Not much comment here, since I don't even know where is your hotel, or what the standard is like. If Formosa Hotel is not in your price range, you can try Lovinna Hotel (Nagoya, beware, there are 3 Lovinna Hotels in Batam), Hotel City Central, Hotel Hana (best, just across New Berry, a booking joint and 15 minutes away from Happy8, another booking joint). These hotels are between $20 - $40 per night and in the vicinity of Formosa Hotel, so you still can use the guide by Pro NoNo to navigate around the place. (Hana Hotel is sold out, anyway, last friday.)

80K is about ok for a normal massage joint. 150K for milf, hmm, ok. You didn't do badly. I had a pretty good massage + vitalitas (LJ massage) for 1 hour for 200k, at my hotel. But, this deal is brokered by another Dai Gor. Initially she wanted 300k.

NED not my playground as I don't drink. But, I would say they probably get alive around 10pm plus, all the way to about 1pm+. Black Page would be a better person to pass comment on this place. Didn't you go into Blue Moon? They do massage, but at 1st floor, they have a room beside the counter that's where their booking girls sat. They have some very young girls. Next time, just do research beforehand and walk into some joints bravely. The worst is what? Go inside with no girls available. The okt won't humtum you if you don't make any booking.

At least you bargain. And got a cheaper price, despite going in with a ojet. Did you have to pay the ojet? One tip.. tell any ojet or taxi driver, if you make any booking, taxi fare free. Else probably 10k per joint for the ojet. or maybe 20k for the taxi. i had never used this on taxi drivers, so the amount offered need to experiment. But, 10k for ojet is what i had used before.

Morena girls are like that. No discipline, no customer service enforced by the okt. You didn't do too badly on your first trip. What I would have done better is grab the map available on this thread, grab a sim card, and walk my way to the joints. Easily can cut 250k off the booking fee. You didn't hit 3 shots? Some morena girls start wanting to leave once you hit 3 shots with them.

You mean the "roti boy" coffee/bread shop beside the small corridor to the toilet? Yes, it's nice. It made a big hoo haa about 20 years ago when it first start selling at China Square at Shenton Way. Now, you can get it at JB City Square (?) too, if you are there and want to miss the taste.

How much you spent in total and break down? Just an average will do, no need accurate amount.

For a first trip, you did ok. What I would change from your trip would be

1. Book a hotel at Formosa area. Those I list above will be more affordable, yet still near Formosa. Alternatively, I would book Hotel Utama / Biz Hotel / Hotel 18 which is at DC Mall area. This area is a hot bed for booking joints (5-6 all within 10 minutes walk) and massage joints (affordable) and these hotels cost $20 - $40 per night.

2. Grab the map available from this thread (go dig), grab a sim card with data package and explore away. The map here has the the joints in batam (most of them) marked. And, Google Map is really your good friend in Batam (or anywhere else you travel to).

3. Go everywhere by foot, except for long distance. If you stay Utama area, you can save easily up to 300k from taxi fare and driver commission. And, there is a coffee shop beside Hotel 18 with very very good food, and scores of indo chinese eating there.

For those who've reads my first fr would know that i spend 800k just for my driver. Not going to happen again. Quoted 600k for a 8 seater car. So about 120k each for five of us. I think the price could be lower, what do you bros think?

Since you asked,i would share my full day (not night,till about 9pm) driver price,4 to 6 seaters,i usually pay between 250k to 300k. So you can actually use my scale as a bench mark to bargain downward. I have never take an 8 seaters before,so I cannot really comment much but if I were to book one,i would probably only willing to pay about 400k.

Or I get the 250k to 300k 4 to 6 seater driver to drive 8 person 2 times round to reach my destination if the distance is not too long (less than 5 min drive). 3men goes with me to Batam,each has a girl including myself,2 couples goes up the vehicle to be brought to the destination 1st and the driver will come back for the 2nd couple to be brought to the same destination again.

This way,we all can go for our dinner,lunch,movies and perhaps even shopping together,hehehe...and be using just one driver that would cost 250k to 300k.

Any way between Nagoya,Penuin,NED area is often less than 5 min drive away (upon when your vehicle start moving).

Side notes :

I said this before,in Batam,there is also 80k to 150k rupiah per pop (much older girls),lowest i have heard was 50k rupiah per pop (21 year old girl,with some techniques used <which i dislike the use of such techniques>) in massage shops when the girl/s were new and desperate enough. So i am a believer,anything and everything is possible. Then i ask myself,can everyone and anyone get it almost all the time (aka easily get those deals) in Batam,my answer is no. If its not going to be easily available,then i will only be sabotaging the newbies and the 1st time Batam visitors if i add those info into a Guide.

The same can be applied to Taxi fare too. 30k to 40k rupiah for regular rides from point A to point B if one bargained within Nagoya area. If one dont plan to bargain,the price will usually be 50k rupiah plus/minus,otherwise the carrot price of S$30 to S$50 per trip payment which can be seen in the old thread.

Here's my Taxi Pricing Variation during my Batam travel-about base solely on my experience.

1. Grab a full day taxi for only if one plans to go anywhere else more than just getting girls whereby it will usually cost between 250k to 500k rupiah per day. (a full day taxi here means the moment i arrive Batam till around 9pm in the evening and send me back the next morning/noon)

2. Grab a taxi for FREE (via negotiation with the driver) if one plans to go for only girls and thats it. Taxi driver earns from the commission from the booking joint. (if my objective to go Batam is purely just for girls only,i do not need a taxi at all) Taxi driver brings you to serveral booking joint,you picked the girls,pays for it (the girl/s) and the same driver send the girl to you at your desired time. No extra payment needed unless one wish to tip the driver.

3. If one has a regular taxi driver,take down his number. Negotiate for a point to point fare. It can be 20k to 30k rupiah fare from each point to point. Meaning i called the cab driver i knew,the driver comes to Harbour to fetch me to Hotel,i pay 20k. Then i called the same driver again to bring me go lunch,another 20k. Then call the driver to pick me up after lunch,another 20k,then call the driver bring me go massage,another 20k,and another round of calling to bring me back to hotel,20k rupiah,the list goes on and on. Its like a call per use per trip. (if i know i am going to exceed a certain amount per day/night use,i grab a full day driver instead)

5 points = 100k rupiah

Example : i go from Harbour to Hotel,1 point. Hotel to lunch,another point,to find girls,another point,go masaage,another point and so on.

4. Like i say before,i used some trickery from Harbour Bay to Money changer away from Harbour bay,then to Kaha and then to Hotel at 40k to 50k. All in will be less than 20k each point to point. 40k to 50k divided by 3 point destination. I use this method on my solo trips. (everyone who visit Batam before knows changing money at any ferry terminal usually not-so-good rate)

Even if i dont go to Money changer 1st and head from Harbour Bay to Kaha,and then to Formosa only,the fare is still 40k to 50k divided by 2. ;)

5. Dial a Blue Bird taxi that runs on taxi-meter.

Taxi drivers get commission in almost everything whenever money comes out from my wallet,according to what i have read so far. Just that to date,i dont get to see a driver collecting his commission.(what i dont see doesnt mean its not happening in this case and they do collect commission) The taxi variances mentioned above depends on how i would like to travel in Batam. Meaning to say,i have a choice...hehehe...

You ask : If I change more,any better rate?

He reply : How much you want to change?

You ask : S$500 (always start small 1st)

He reply : Give you 9420

You ask : How about we change S$900 (now then show him your real trump card)

He reply : Same

You ask : Nevermind, the other money changer on the other side give me 9450 (its a lie)

He reply : Cannot be,max I give 9430

Walk away a small distance away and discuss among yourself in silence to see if you wish to try ask other money changers in the almost same area.

1. You ask : I go check other money changer 1st (if you wish to get higher price)

or

2. You ask : Give me 9450 and I don't need to ask anymore

His reply for 1 : Ok,ok..i give you same 9450

or

His reply for 2 : Cannot,you go other money changer and ask la...

It will be up to you to decide at this point and if you think you gotten a good price,you may wish to change there or you may wish to just change only S$600 over your total S$900 and keep the rest for later on or the next day whereby the rate may go up or down.

Your money, your call.

Book through kaha, got 525k for a deluxe room. Feel like got carrot even for a weekend stay.

50k extra for weekend is inevitable for most Batam hotel. Weekday price usually 475k from Kaha. (the price for Kaha will change on 2017)

With staying in the right hotel, wrong is usually minimized if you deemed yourself a newbie/1st timer. Many examples of failures in this this thread just becos they took their step number ONE not right.

When you are deemed no longer a newbie or 1st timer, you can always change your hotel stay. But it may means reliance on taxi would likely become higher and physically learning expereince in the trip becomes lesser. At least it would means that from my perspective.

Once you are seasoned-enough, you can stay as far as Pulau Galang,aka ex. Vietnam camp (almost an hour drive from Nagoya). You will still be able to get girls for the night. And getting wechat girls do not equates to being a season cheongster in Batam,hehehe... becos I would run a much higher risk,get not-as-good service (most time) and be paying a higher price.

Remember I say about paying higher and getting less comparing to paying lower and getting more?

I am speaking base on my own experience in Batam.

We stared fishing. Not expecting so much as it's a weekend, and it's already 12pm at that point. Started from happy, was surprised with the quantity, but not much quality. 😂.
We decide to go Sri kandi, wasn't sure about booking there, but just decided to try. Book two girls from Sri mandi.(For me and a friend) Quoted 1.3mil each, manage to get 100k discount for each of the girls. Mami says weekends can't not discount so much. So just agrees with the price. Told mami we will fetch them at 4pm. Do note, at this point is just me and my other friend. The other 3 will be coming at 3pm ferry.

Wise move,hotel already confirmed,not need to be set on priority when you arrived. The right timing for the girls is priority.

We decide to go back hotel and check in at about 1pm. Got our two rooms, and calls for in room massage.

Back to fomosa at about 1pm, called for our in room massage, after 1hr massage quoted 300k for hj and 500k for fj. (Fyi, on the 2nd trip i paid 400k for hj, topless and free roam. Even got suck her nips.) But i knoe i got carrot, as she knows I'm interested. So this time round act not intersted. Got 200k for hj topless and free roam. I tried to ask for 100k, but not as easy.

Very smart move this time round for not repeating what you didn't do right the last time.

You are learning,bro. 100k is really rare but 150k should be a challenge. 200k is a walk in the park,meaing way too easy.

What i learn in this trip is, if your not shy, be humble and give and take here and there. You may meet at half way line of the price they quoted, but still not pro as you bros, get lower price. If your willing to learn, anything is possible. Best part is, my friends enjoyed their trip, and already asking me to plan for Jan 2017.

What I learned about Indonesia as a kid from my parents who works there is that, always bargain downward by 50% for things w/o a price tag. I had a rude shock a very long time ago when an Indo Chinese lady starts bargaining downward when in Sillypore by a straight 50%,hehehe...I have to explain to the Indo lady that Sillypore is all fix price.

For my case and maybe even some of friends,our objectives to go Batam is mainly to have a good time, enjoy ourselves. And if paying lesser gives us better time,and paying more gives us a not-so-good time,we will probably choose to pay less for more.

Many who were currently paying less probably already knew what they could get by paying more (since paying more is way much easier than paying less), but there are also many who PAID MORE have NOT KNOWN what they could TRULY GET when paying less...interesting...very interesting.

And then there is those who paid more most of the time didn't quite enjoy Batam as much as those who actually paid lesser, and how did I define that? Becos those who PAID MORE visited Batam way way much lesser than those who pays lesser, hehehe...of course not all of it works that way theoretically, but majority should be.

I enjoyed Batam hence I go there once or twice a month (while some bros here go once a week or even stayed there for good), "Charlie" didn't...so he only goes once or twice a year (maybe thrice) when he is out of ideas to cheong ,hehehe...Charlie probably didn't enjoyed Batam as much as I did in this case.

My conclusion is,most who are paying more most likely didn't know Batam well yet. Mark my words carefully and then observe all the rest of the coming FR from now onward (can also check out other older FRs too),hehehe...

Bars and pubs get populated after 10pm till 1am or much later on weekends. Most pubs are sad places, with girls just waiting someone to drink and chat with. Quite open question. But, I would suggest you take ferry to HarbourBay via Horizon Fast Ferry (preferably) or BatamFast (lesser trips). I would suggest Batam Centre since I'm able to get $31 tickets and still use both Bayan Centre and HarbourBay. But, departure must be to Batam Centre, which will need a long taxi trip to Nagoya where the bulk of the naughty massage places are.

Massage parlor wise, I would suggest Atalanta. They have hot pool, cold pool, sauna where you can relax a bit before proceeding to the massage. One note though. The massage package only include the use of facilities plus 1.5 hr massage. HJ / BJ / FJ / Whatever-J is to be negotiated separately with the masseuse. You can actually use up to 3 hours here, if you're here alone. More, if you're there with friends with the chit chats etc.

This should cost you about 250k +/-, excluding the Whatever-J you nego with the cewe.

Alternatively, you can go this New Spa and Massage (also known in this board as Grand Dragon Spa). Go between 11am - 5pm and you get a 40% discount off the package price. Note, only package price get the discount though. Anything else such as aromatherapy oil, ear digging etc is charge at full price. Why this place is mentioned frequently is cos, with the off-peak discount and free HJ, the nett price of about 238k +/- is almost the cheapest in town. And, from my 3 trips there, the massage is not bad. They will ask if you have preference such as regular masseuse, hard or soft massage preferred etc.

One or two observations about this place though .. my friend was told that HJ yes, but no shooting else extra charge (nonsense), upselling on the massage oil etc. Just keep a sound mind and you will just pay the discounted price if you check-in between 11am to 5pm.

New Spa is at another area (Penuin area) where choices for naughty massage is rarely offered. I only know of 3 such joints there now. However, tonnes of good food around there though.

There are often ways to get things done. Price has never been a factor for most Sillyporean in Batam. And the best ways is often the most suitable way for oneself.

The ability to pay consistently a certain price rate is different from paying a much higher price inconsistently when the motion is on a regular basis.

Example :

I pay 10 juta for a pop,but can I afford to pay 10 juta a pop everyday, everytime? But if I pay 250k a pop,i am able to pay the same price consistently everyday,everytime. And this is what I meant by having the consistent ability to pay.

10 juta a pop,i strongly believe,every Sillyporean will be able to can afford the price, just not consistently. Something I learned from my part time boss when he asked me not to over tip girls in certain Sillypore KTVs and night clubs if I cannot be consistent enough.

He's the same guy I mentioned who once visited M1/M2 and tipped almost every sitting girls there S$50 (minimum amount and max was S$200). But at least this is what he did every night 6 days a week in Sillypore and he's just being consistent, hehehe... (just a personal view)

If it's Okotomo, they sell it in their Minimart here. But, anyway, I've not had any issues with bringing condoms into batam. Heck, I always have at least 12 everytime I'm there. With the abundance of ceweks there, you never know when you need one.

They offer the following packages:

1. Massage + body massage
2. Massage + vitalitas
3. Massage + BM + Vit + HJ
4. Massage + BM + Vit + FJ

It's quite expensive though, with the FJ package costing about 900k and the massage is generally piano style.

Cewek quality has also deteriorated and the last time I visited many months ago, the selections were either quite MILFy or bordering on baby elephant types. Not sure if the situation has changed.

For now, better to stick with New Spa in BCH. Otherwise, Nagoya & Utama area is just a 5-10 min ride away, and Octopuss & Atlanta spas are just 15-20 mins away

I tried to book formosa hotel as adviced in the newbie guide but I guess it was all sold out so I am thinking of barelang hotel. Is it a good place for beginners and its it near joints like new berry? Is there a newbie friendly hotel to recommend other than formosa? have read up this thread and realist most people will buy their own condom and that is what we should do right? And we dont have to buy sim card as there is wifi in the hotel i guess. Any tips would be great!

It's in HarbourBay compound. Daytime, no issue with makan. After 7pm, might be a bit issue. I don't know how late the coffee shops are open until, but there are seafood restaurants in HarbourBay though they are the types that cater more for tourists.

Yes,you may miss out on New Berry and perhaps even Happy 8,Permata Indah and Gold Bird,but what you will be getting will be Kupu,Bunga,Sri Kandy and most of the massage places you would ever ask for. Even MM and Indah2 wont be too far out (about 20 mins walk).

Depend on how many days you wish to stay in Batam. If you are staying for more than 2D1N,a sim card would do better. Most higher scale massage shops (aka spa),hotels and eatery has wifi. Just ask their waiter/staffs for passwords.

Tips :

1. You can stay in any hotels as long as it is convenient for you to move from point to point.

2. This is the time where things,girls,massage and every other things will be higher than normal day (compare between weekend versus weekend). Remember to bargain or be prepare to pay MUCH higher than normal.

3. Be patience,be nice,be humble and avoid too much attention. Oh,and cut whatever expectation you have by at least half too.

4. Whichever hotel you are in,the hotel staffs would be a batam beginner's best bet (for the time being). People can run,hotel cannot run. Get their hotel name card if you are buying a sim card (you will need to at least have the hotel's number if their name card runs out).

Data package can get 300mb valid for 7 days at 23,000 rp. This should be enough for forum browsing. I'm there frequently, so I bought the 10gb for 99k rp valid for 30 days. Much worth it to buy local SIM card. My place will be quite nearby. I'm there from 31/12. Maybe can meet up for makan.

Hi bro, I believe some other senior samester has shared their recommendations to you. As for Barelang hotel, it is very close to Sedona aka golden bird for booking enjoyment and kampung blue. If your are interested in pubs and drinks, it will be a good place to stay. To be honest, I feel most hotel in Batam if not all, is newbie friendly so don't worry too much of it. And Barelang is quite new and nice considering its affordable price. Just start trying with basic intellegince and you will learn how to enjoy yourself there. And for hotel price, Agoda and Booking are your best friend there, Cheers...

With staying in the right hotel, wrong is usually minimized if you deemed yourself a newbie/1st timer. Many examples of failures in this this thread just becos they took their step number ONE not right.

When you are deemed no longer a newbie or 1st timer, you can always change your hotel stay. But it may means reliance on taxi would likely become higher and physically learning expereince in the trip becomes lesser. At least it would means that from my perspective.

Once you are seasoned-enough, you can stay as far as Pulau Galang,aka ex. Vietnam camp (almost an hour drive from Nagoya). You will still be able to get girls for the night. And getting wechat girls do not equates to being a season cheongster in Batam,hehehe... becos I would run a much higher risk,get not-as-good service (most time) and be paying a higher price.

Remember I say about paying higher and getting less comparing to paying lower and getting more?

There is another theory to this, according to a Quora user, that Dr. Subramanian Swamy once asked the Indonesian Finance Minister about the image of Ganesha on their currency note. The minister explained that in 1997, the currency of several Asian countries was getting devalued. After all attempts to curb the devaluation failed, somebody suggested that they have an image of Ganesha, bringer of good fortune on the note. Luckily, it worked and the superstition has stuck ever since. Since then, the image has stayed on the currency note and natives have accepted it.
