Any farmacy, but more expensive than in Latin America.
To say it out, I bought some 100mg because I was over my stock, and when I used I had the impression they were not effective.
I am reluctant to say the product is not reliable (i.e., is the 100mg declared really 100mg? or just 20mg?). Maybe it was me that I was super tired.

I visited Utama area with a seasoned friend in batam (who can speaks Indo Bahasa fluently), no taxi driver nor gojek come and disturb me anymore.

To me, i am fine with them approaching me, but when i turn them down them nicely and they move away, thats not harassing at all. But when i turn them down and they still keep coming at me and/or stalking me. Now, thats pestering. And i do not like that.

My last experience there was, this particular supir/gojek guy will just sit directly opposite me and keeps on talking to me loudly in broken english with a mix of Indo Bahasa but i completely ignored him (treat him like air). I put on my earphone and read an e-book there on my phone. I think he's trying to make me feel shameful or paiseh to be there with his loud voice and many on-looker, hehehe....but i couldn't hear him nor understand him at all. :D

If there is anything i learned in Batam regarding gojek/supir, thats when i feel that a "dog" barks at me, i do not bark back at "it". :p

It's the apotek (vitka farma Windsor) that nono mentioned just right opposite da Vienna boutique hotel. Never tried so cant vouch for how effective the pills are but they are sealed with official government logo so I guess it's definitely better than those you can get from ojeks or taxis?

LT but not even 12 hrs with us. Price also not cheap. Best is to fish outside. Batam beautiful place with beautiful girls. There are gems everywhere. Be nice, humble, helpful, abit knowledge of bahasa indon and abit of luck, you will be in good stead to get your prize. You dont need to be a pria tampan. Trust me.

The key reason why i share this pharmacy is because it is a big one and has most of what most people are looking for. Even if they do not have stock now, they can replenish them within 24 hours from their other branches as their computers were link up from branches to branches. ;)

And i am doing a "test drive" this coming August, hehehe...i got a pure breed Indo Chinese taxi driver this time round (who speaks English/Chinese well) but the cost is S$60 for a full day booking, hehehe... :D

Just like some places have some really good gems, some may follow you back for no cost at all. It's really a YMMV land. Just go to (Holywings) and you would see all the MLS at major points there on their off days spending all your monies. Some like Planet so they can get their fix they are missing from where they from.

It depends on individual preference. For me, when I went Batam 1st time, I already tried to go to my hotel(former Formosa) by walking using Google Map. Ever since, each time I visit batam, I will always walk to the hotel from the ferry terminal even if I have friends tagging along 😁
You get to see some places you don't usually see as transport/tourists normally will not pass by the area.

My first field report as newbie in Batam.

Today morning around 5am, I walked from Penuin market to the Apotek Vita Farma. Not too far and took almost 20-25 minutes to walk. The sky still dark and sunrise around 5.45am.

I went inside Apotek Vita Farma which is directly opposite Da Vienna hotel building which was totally dark. I went in without any idea what to buy and just to ensure the pharmacy still open. They are well stocked with products and medicines.

Along the way, saw plenty of folks gathered inside Tua Pek Gong temple. I joined the morning aerobics exercise. Then walk back to prepare for my breakfast.

All I did was to read up what was shared in this thread and thank you all for sharing.

Frankly i do cheong with Sinkies and JH. Generally JH are more steady because of the ex rate. They dont go around saying this and that cheap. Rp8k is rm2.80. So they know is not small change.

You can book your taxi on your phone at Harbour Bay ferry terminal, the driver who took your order can comes from as far as Nongsa or Sekupang. Hence what my friend (using Maxim) will cancel the taxi order almost immediately & re-book the taxi again.

This way, the waiting time waiting for the driver to come to us is longer than using Grab or Gojek.

Above were the bad part of it, and as for the good part.

Besides price point (which is lower), most who signs up for Maxim were newbie-on-the-batam-road driver. Can easily negotiate a full day taxi booking at a lower price. I have already met no less than 3 lady taxi driver from Maxim. :D

Few months ago, one auntie even bring her kids along to pick up passenger (me) too. I also learn many locals were using Maxim, even hotel staffs who help me book taxi also using Maxim. :p

Bro, everyone is different. Some are willing to pay for girls and splurge on them even when they are not that rich. While some prefer to splurge on food and/or massage in Batam. My perspective here is no one who comes to Batam from Singapore are poor, hehehe.... different people, different habits.

My part time boss once show me in real life inside a hang flower KTV on Singapore a man whom he knew, who sells wan tan noodle in Yishun for a living. He told me, how many plates of wan tan noodle this man has to sell in order to hang a S$5000 "flower" over his favorite china girl's neck once a week consistently (whether he gets a pop from the girl later after that i don't know but according to my boss, he didn't).

Noodle man only gives his wife about S$500 a month to help out in his stall. :D

It depends on individual preference. For me, when I went Batam 1st time, I already tried to go to my hotel(former Formosa) by walking using Google Map. Ever since, each time I visit batam, I will always walk to the hotel from the ferry terminal even if I have friends tagging along 😁

Your experience were quite similar as me when i first started Batam. I stayed in (used to) Formosa Hotel too. And i walked to Formosa Hotel no less than 10 times in all my 10 years of Batam trips from ferry terminal. :p

When Formosa Hotel closed down some years back ago, the situation has forced me to move out of my comfort zone to re-established another headquarter in Batam, hehehe... no hotel could match Formosa as yet.

Or to put it in a easy-to-understand picture.

No hotel in Batam has what Formosa Hotel :

1. A KTV with girls for overnight booking,

2. Located almost right in the central of most overnight booking joints and MPs.

3. Have a in-hotel MP that operates from 9am to midnight (closed at 1am).

4. Has a sauna room that most people didn't know and ONLY me and my girls use it. More importantly, it's free. (i call it my personal sauna room as it's the only sauna where me and my girls can go completely naked inside and nobody will bother me)

5. Has a 24 hour restaurant with room service at Zhi char pricing (& 20% off too).

6. Has a Tea Story cafe that closes at 3am. So i can sit at lobby to watch the Alishan KTV girls come & go at 2am onward.

I did a thorough search in Batam over the years and no hotels in Batam has all the above features under one roof.

My advice to all travellers: NEVER, NEVER bring your passport with you when you go out! The safest place is your hotel room, with or without a safety box.
Besides mugging, which is a rare event, loose items can be lost, ANYTIME and ANYHERE. What do you do if you are in a foreign land without passport? It's a big pain.
My SOP when I arrive: I put my second credit card, passport, driver license, additional IDs that are not necessary, extra cash supply, etc. in the safety box of my hotel room.

Recently re visited this almost forgotten playground that is so near to Singieland but yet seem so far.

I must say Batam Centre immigration has improved a lot since i last visited, even have priority lane for visitor.

Anyway, to cut the story short visited all the well-known joints like MAWAR, LINK etc.. mostly "little flying elephants" and all asking 1.5m. Visited Pacific disco, still a good fishing ground, a lot of freelances. But the hay day of the largest disco in Batam is no more... half of the hall is now some kind of "casino" (unconfirmed).

In the early afternoon, decided to pay Octapuss a visit as it is my first time.. first timer... remember it is not in the hotel but in the middle lobby of this Pacific complex (the one that looks like a ship). The lift is where the entrance of Pacific disco is located, go to level 8. You will be greeted by reception that explain the package, take a tag and go enjoy. Coffee is not free. Platinum girls are something like 1.2m, and Gold girls are like 800+k... i ask for "mirror" ie show all the girls and picked this Surabaya girl Tia (G51), sweet 20 year old with a very nice tits and body.

Hehehe...Formosa is history (265, 275 & 277 were all smoking room, another one i can't bother to flip back because it's for non-smoker), now my favorite room is 209. :D

Must always have back up if other one fails. If all else fails, then that day is just not my day. Call it a day and move on to "tomorrow". Can't be everyday also bad day, right? :p

Because i was talking about the goodness of Formosa on the post, and not its KTV.

A KTV in batam with girls in it is normal. But a KTV inside a hotel with vietnam, thailand & prc girls isn't.

Another KTV that has Vietnam, Thailand and China girls during the Formosa era were Billiard Center KTV.

And they were about 20 mins walk away each other.

I even heard they switch their girls around from there to Formosa's KTV too.

I love to watch those girls without any bookings coming down from their work place (on weekdays) at the lobby area and then when fate allows it, book them at half or 1/3 of their original price. :D

Nowaday market is bad, cost of living is getting higher over the last few months. More female taxi driver are joining the taxi trade.

The way they spend is really crazy..and especially they like to take drugs in ktv, the ktv and the mami loved them a lot, lots of commission for them.
Most ktv have like 50-100 girls, but when people like us go and ask for contest, you wont see the full line-up, cause there will always be a group of them that's always pre-booked by the chinese customer, or the mami will purposely leave the good one for them.

The ktv girls showed me before their chat history with the chinese customer, they always offer double or triple the amount we would generally pay to the girl.

Anyway, if bro don generally chiong ktv, its not really a concern, they only frequent and spoil the ktv market. They wont go joint one

For this, I agree. Ever since Formosa closed down, i had tried others like Da Vienna, Harmoni Suites, none can compare to Formosa(if to choose, Da Vienna will be better one but cost higher).

In order to find my ideal hotel in Batam today.

Out of all the 6 good factor points about Formosa below :

No hotel in Batam has what Formosa Hotel :

1. A KTV with girls for overnight booking,

2. Located almost right in the central of most overnight booking joints and MPs.

3. Have a in-hotel MP that operates from 9am to midnight (closed at 1am).

4. Has a sauna room that most people didn't know and ONLY me and my girls use it. More importantly, it's free. (i call it my personal sauna room as it's the only sauna where me and my girls can go completely naked inside and nobody will bother me)

5. Has a 24 hour restaurant with room service at Zhi char pricing (& 20% off too).

6. Has a Tea Story cafe that closes at 3am. So i can sit at lobby to watch the Alishan KTV girls come & go at 2am onward.

I did a thorough search in Batam over the years and no hotels in Batam has all the above features under one roof.

If anyone can find, please let me know.


I will need to forgo those lesser important ones and to find other ways/means to work around it.

1. I don't physically visit KTVs, hence i can forgo this. I just need a place to sit around those Batam big gun KTVs like Billiard Center, Dragon and M1/M2. Therefore i can cut this part out and work around it instead.

2. What are the hotels near to booking joint? Other than those around Utama/Pagoda area of booking joint. Let's not forget Sekar and it has a hotel direct opposite it. Also beside Lovina Inn Hotel Nagoya is Beauty booking joint. :p

3. Ok, the hotel i am staying in now has a cheap MP that operates 10am to 11pm, good enough and more importantly, cheap enough. There are few such hotels in Batam, example Hana, Paragon Hotel etc.

4. Now, comes to Hotel with sauna room, there is Batam City Hotel and Gideon Hotel. When it comes to Sauna room, there will usually have have MP too. But this 2 hotel's MP massage service not cheap. I would say it cost higher than the King Massage in Formosa. I think Golden Gate hotel around Utama also have but not cheap tho.

5. A 24 hour restaurant inside hotel, i think 90% of 3 star hotel do not have, not even at Biz hotel. Alternative is to have a hotel nearby to food court or bustling eating area, like a2 Food court, Windsor food court , Nagoya Food court etc. For me, i can forgo this due to my enormous groceries stock up on my first day in Batam.

6. As mention on number 5 above, there are really very little restaurants or cafe that operates until late night near to those big gun KTVs, hence my next alternative will be the 7-eleven shops with table and chair to sit around. In Indonesia, those 7-Eleven shops were namely Circle-K, Indo-maret etc. And yes, i do eating maggi noodles aka pop-mie in Batam.

7. I forgot to mention one more thing as i was typing number 6 above, the need for a convenient store near to a hotel is VERY important for me. If i run out of "helmet" inside room, i know i can easily get a box nearby.

Just like in Formosa hotel, Circle-K is directly downstairs of the hotel, top 100 is within 1 min walk, which is also opposite Lovina Hotel Nagoya.

After typing all the above 7 pointers, needless to say my most ideal 2 star hotel today will be either Paragon Hotel, Hana Hotel or Lovina Inn Hotel Nagoya. Ok, let's say i don't like 2 star hotel. How about Holiday hotel behind Lovina inn hotel Nagoya? Which is a fairly well-renovated hotel.

Batam 1 behind ex. Formosa Hotel can be a good choice too.

So many hotels to replace Formosa Hotel, if only i am willing to sacrifice a few points from the above 7 pointers which i hope to get under one roof.

* since i already got a taxi driver, i do not really need hotel's feeder service anymore. Nonetheless, its still good to have if given a choice.

Anyway, ex Formosa Hotel still under renovation, and should be operating in time to come, under a different name.

Recently came back from Batam 3D2N trip. Nothing special happened as i was just relaxing myself trying another hotel which is Biz Hotel. The room I got was small.

I let you in on a small secret i kept in my sleeves here, hehehe...that is if you do not mind no breakfast from Hotel.

Try Pagoda Hotel. But don't take the normal room. Take the family room instead (got 2 beds inside room). Price is cheaper, if not similar to Biz hotel's small room.

Only setback is, there are only 2 such rooms there. So it's really hard to book. Which is also why i seldom mention it here.

If all else fail, then stay in Namii Hotel. I think their bigger room only about S$30 (smaller room S$20), hehehe...can still call massage to room from lobby too (no breakfast tho).

First time back in Batam since Covid, went to Octo today, pricing a bit different, was told 376k for massage and 2x HJ (cannot choose girl) and 800K or something for Gold only FJ (Not really paying attention lol), and 1,173K for Plat only FJ also. Nothing serious, i always call housekeeping to settle such issue and much often, they always do a good job.

One of my criteria for a good hotel is its housekeepers. They need to come to me fast and make up my room fast. Sometime they need to do that more than once a day. Under normal circumstances they would finish making up my room in around 10 mins (and most time they did so in less than 10 mins). Because usually more than 2 person is doing the task. And yes, i tip all of them.

In Batam, if i come across issues like that, i will analyze the situation if i could work around things/issues, and if i can't, i change hotel. The same reason why i give up on Da Vienna Hotel and Harmoni Suite. They don't fit my requirement.

I stayed in Biz Hotel Junior suite at it top floor before and its other premier suite. Junior suite's toilet bowl & the study table were infested with many small cockroaches upon opening. Took videos & photos to show to receptionist, they moved me to another premier suite and compensated me with a free dinner. I am happy but i don't stay there anymore. ;)

A long long time ago, i used to walk to Utama for an intended "good relaxing" massage. And then i realize i made a grave mistake.

I walk around 15mins under hot sun, perspire like crazy for a "good relaxing" massage. 1.5 hour after my "good relaxing" massage, i walk back to hotel and again perspire like crazy. Upon returning to room, my body is no longer feeling "good relaxing". :p

Back then, i learned that if i need to buy time to give myself a good time, i will definitely do so.

You can go to the booking joint as early as 10am but not much girls are ready. So technically you can book them at 10am, then they are yours from 10am onwards until the next day 6am-10am(depends on the girls). Oh and there is this unspoken rules of maximum 3 shots, so once you done 3 shots, the girl will either chut pattern say want go back or will stay with you until the next day, depends on your chemistry. But honestly speaking, so far I only met one that limit me to the 3 shots, although she still stay with me until the next day, but had to nego price for extra shot.

Basically you can bring her anywhere you want, provided the girl want to lar. Because some time you will get a girl that chut pattern, only want to stay in hotel that kind.

Will be at Batam for the first time, have some questions regarding booking joint.

Only read about overnight from booking joint, but are we allowed to bring the girl out in the afternoon, for example 2pm - 6pm?

How far can we bring the girl out, is it ok if our hotel is far, for example 15 mins with cab from the booking joint? I will pay for all the cab needed.

Was at Octupuss Spa with a friend.
Unfortunately he lost his iphone inside his locker. However the strange part is after watching the CCTV, nobody took his phone from his locker. He remmeber putting it into the locker before taking a shower. When he return , he didnt think much about it. After he exit the locker room , he was looking for his iphone, but couldnt find it with him. He rush back to the locker also never find. CCTV also didnt show anyone touch and wnt near his locker.

Just wondering how can it happen, and this is weird right. The phone was turn off immediately which we suspect someone took and off it. The security guards are also puzzle when they both look at the CCTV. Saw my friend indeed put the phone in the locker. But how did it went missing?? He view the entire cctv from the minute he enter locker room to the time he left.

HAHAH... ghost month or secret compartment inside the locker?>
